Travelling to Montreal

The city of Montreal is easily accessible by flight, train, and bus:

– AIR: A variety of flights arrive at the Pierre Elliot Trudeau International Airport; downtown is only 20 minutes away. The 747 shuttle bus takes you directly to the Lionel Groulx metro station; fare is $10 in exact change (coins) and allows you unlimited bus and metro access for 24 hours. There is a shuttle bus service to and from many of the major hotels. Flat rate for taxis from airport to downtown is around $40.

– TRAIN: Via Rail or Amtrak brings you to Central Station downtown Montreal (895 De La Gauchetière Street West, H3B 4G1). From there you can get to the Bonaventure métro (subway) station. Métro map provided below.

– BUS: Greyhound and Megabus offer numerous trips to and from Montreal. Greyhound destination is the Gare d’Autocars de Montréal Inc (1717 Berri Street, H2L 4E9), close to the Berri UQAM metro station. Megabus destination is 997 St-Antoine Ouest (Métro Bonaventure).

– STM tourist passes: The Société de transport de Montréal (STM) offers tourists passes for a one or three-day period – this allows unlimited access to the bus and metro (subway) system.
